Objective:

Following acceptance and funding of PMEI’s Bounty#17 proposal for {bash}: an ETHDenver Official Afterparty, the producing team is seeking to onboard attendees to the Polkadot Ecosystem by way of wallet downloads and event airdrops.

An existential deposit is needed in each wallet for this purpose. We therefore propose seeding the new existential 0.1 DOT deposit for all 5k-6k attendees of this official afterparty, totaling 500-600 DOT, with some excess DOT reserved for excess wallet downloads and gas fees. 

The objective of this proposal is to leverage the excitement of {bash} Eth Denver's official afterparty, Bash, to drive significant Polkadot wallet downloads and subsequent engagement within the Polkadot ecosystem. By making wallet download a requirement to attend the event and incentivizing attendees to download the Nova wallet with token drops, we aim to facilitate one of the largest onboarding events for Polkadot wallets downloaded for the purposes of a Polkadot Event.

 

Our goal is to also educate non-Polkadot native attendees that Polkadot onboarding is not difficult and that there is a thriving ecosystem building incredibly user-friendly products. 

 

Furthermore, by fostering partnerships with Polkadot projects, we intend to encourage attendees to actively utilize their wallets beyond the event, thereby contributing to the growth and vibrancy of the Polkadot ecosystem—in a seamless & frictionless way.

Strategy:

 

• Airdrop Incentive: Allocate 1000 DOT tokens to be distributed as incentives for attendees to download the Nova wallet. To ensure widespread participation, gate entry to {bash} with Nova wallet download. This ensures that attendees actively engage with the Polkadot ecosystem in exchange for access to the event.

• Existential Deposit Coverage: A portion of this airdrop will be allocated to cover the existential deposit associated with these new accounts.

 

• Transaction Fee Coverage: Utilize a portion of the allocated DOT tokens to cover transaction fees associated with the airdrop. This ensures a seamless and cost-effective distribution process for the attendees.

• Post-Event Engagement: Partner with Polkadot projects to promote the utilization of dropped tokens on their platforms. Encourage attendees to explore and utilize the functionalities of their wallets beyond the event experience. This could include participating in decentralized applications (dApps), staking, or trading within the Polkadot ecosystem.

• Community Building: Leverage the momentum generated by the airdrop and partnerships to foster a sense of community among attendees and to drive a sense of excitement to explore the Polkadot ecosystem.

 

Impact:

 

• Achieve one of the largest Polkadot wallet downloads event associated with any event, with an estimated target of 4.5K-6K attendees downloading the Nova wallet.

 

• Drive excitement and engagement within the Polkadot ecosystem, leading to increased adoption and utilization of Polkadot wallets and associated projects.

 

• Foster partnerships and collaborations between Polkadot projects and attendees, thereby expanding the reach and impact of the Polkadot ecosystem.

 

• Run a post event email marketing campaign to drive deeper adoption of Polkadot ecosystem projects/dapps where airdrop tokens can be used.

• Establish Bash as a leading platform for promoting Polkadot and facilitating community engagement within the blockchain space.

 

Contingent on the success of this campaign we may request additional  DOT funding to drive further engagement with the new wallet holders/attendees in partnership with major Polkadot ecosystem teams.
