We are proud to propose the **1TRIBE: Connecting Africa to the future with WEB3 and Polkadot** project to the Polkadot community. 

Our mission is to empower Africans  with the knowledge and skills to participate in the decentralized web3 economy, with a particular focus on Polkadot, through innovative educational programs and engaging multimedia content. 

At 1TRIBE, we recognize the power of **radio** as a tool for reaching a wider African audience. While our content primarily begins in a ****visual format****, we recognize that not all individuals have access to the internet or the time to engage with visual content. Therefore, we have made it our mission to incorporate a **radio format** into our platform to ensure that our message reaches a wider audience.

Radio is a powerful and accessible means of **information dissemination** that has proven to be a vital tool for community development in **Africa**. It is estimated that over 90% of Africans have access to radio, making it the most widely used medium of communication on the continent. In addition, radio has a lower barrier to entry, making it a cost-effective method of reaching impoverished communities.

Aside from terrestrial radio, we have also recognized the potential of the **online radio format**. With the rise of affordable smartphones and the growing availability of mobile internet across Africa, online radio presents an excellent opportunity to reach even more people on the continent and the diaspora. Online radio also consumes less data and is therefore more affordable for Africans with limited data plans.

Our hybrid format allows us to convert our **podcasts** and visual content into radio format, ensuring that no content goes to waste and making our content accessible to a wider audience.

This approach allows us to use the power of radio to cast a wider net, reaching those who may not have access to the internet or simply prefer to engage with audio content.

We are proud to collaborate with the Web3 Foundation Technical Education Team to ensure that all our **web3 education** is informed by the best technical knowledge available.

Our goals for 1TRIBE are as follows:

- **Foster** a diverse community of Africans, Africans in the diaspora, and people of African descent from around the world who are interested in web3 and Polkadot

- **Drive interest** in web3 and Polkadot by seamlessly incorporating African music, art, and fashion

- **Educate** Africa's budding entertainers, artists, musicians, and students about the potential of web3 and Polkadot

- **Provide** a platform for discussions and education about web3 and Polkadot

- **Encourage** the development and growth of the web3 ecosystem in


We believe that by achieving these goals, 1TRIBE will play a vital role in bridging Africa to the future with Polkadot. We thank the council for considering our proposal and look forward to the opportunity to build this novel approach to WEB3 education.

11 months into our mission at 1TRIBE, we've successfully fused African culture with the Web3 economy via Polkadot, exceeding expectations and pioneering innovation across the continent.
Our primary aim in Phase 1 was to curate a substantial content library, a goal we've proudly met. It's important to note that this phase was focused solely on content creation without an official launch or marketing effort. Consequently, while our social engagement levels may not match expectations, this was by design, as our efforts were concentrated on building a solid foundation.
Over the last five months, following the completion of Phase 1, all content shared on our social media has been self-financed, separate from our Phase 1 content library. This approach was taken to solicit crucial feedback from the community. By doing so, we aim to ensure our official launch and future initiatives are perfectly tailored to meet the community's needs and maximize Polkadot's impact in regions where its presence has yet to be established.
This groundwork sets the stage for an impactful Phase 2, where we aim to broaden blockchain education and foster Polkadot adoption across Africa, heralding a new era of digital innovation in a region ripe for transformation.

1TRIBE: Africa On DOT - Phase II

Greetings Council Members!

As we all witness the rapid growth of WEB3 technologies, it's crucial that we make sure the adoption of these technologies is inclusive and reaches every corner of the world. 

That's why we're excited to introduce **1TRIBE**, a digital multimedia education initiative that empowers Africans to participate in the decentralized WEB3 economy, with a focus on the **Polkadot** ecosystem 


After engaging with the community for [feedback](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/post/1534) through platforms like **AAG** and **The Kusamarian**, we're thrilled to have received a lot of community support. 

However, some council members abstained from voting and following feedback from members of council and community, we have refined our proposal to better articulate our project.

As a **pro-African** WEB3 multimedia platform, we know that using all available mediums to disseminate our message of WEB3 education and empowerment to African youth is crucial. That's why we've made it our mission to incorporate an **online radio** format into our platform. Our hybrid platform allows us to convert our series of themed video content into online-radio format, ensuring that our message reaches a wider audience and that none of our content goes to waste.

Our goals for 1TRIBE are simple:

- **Foster** a diverse community of Africans, Africans in the diaspora, and people of African descent from around the world who are interested in Web3 and the Polkadot ecosystem.
