Dear esteemed Polkadot council and community,

I hope this message finds you well. As we continue to witness the rapid growth of Web3 technologies, it is important to remember that the adoption of these technologies must be **inclusive** and reach all corners of the world. This is where **Africa** comes in - a continent with a population of over 1.3 billion people, a large and growing young population, and a vast untapped market for blockchain technology.
We, the team at **1TRIBE**, are passionate about **bridging** Africa to the future with **Polkadot**. We strongly believe that Africa needs Polkadot and Polkadot needs Africa. Our proposal, "**1Tribe: Bridging Africa to the Future with Polkadot**," is a testament to this belief.

For over a year, we have researched and self-funded this project, with the aim of creating a dependable growth platform that will aid in the long-term expansion of Polkadot in Africa. Our 6-month plan is the first step towards this goal, which includes education on Web3 technologies and onboarding the next couple of thousand African users, ranging from retail entrepreneurs to artists, musicians, students, educators, and developers capable of creating solutions to real **African challenges**.

Our approach of launching a **hybrid media platform** focused on our region, with an experienced team of on-air personalities, is **unmatched** by any existing initiatives in Africa by other blockchain projects already rooted in the region.

We are proud to say that our proposal is the first of its kind and Polkadot’s first from an **African team**, with detailed breakdowns of who, what, and why Africa needs this and why Polkadot needs Africa. We are thrilled to have received support and input from the W3F Technical Education team, which has also resulted in a direct collaboration. We are excited about this collaboration, and personally I George, am excited about it as an aspiring **educator** in this space. 

We hope to work with you all to achieve our shared vision.
We understand the importance of inclusivity and diversity in this space, and we believe that Africa has a lot to offer. We are grateful for the opportunity to present our proposal to the council, and we thank you all for your time and consideration.

1TRIBE team was in correspondence with the Technical Education team at Web3 Foundation while drafting this proposal. The TechEd team is actively working on scaling Polkadot education through [https://www.edx.org/school/web3x](https://www.edx.org/school/web3x) and is in the process of making the instructional content open for educators and learners. 

> Our blockchain educational content will blend seamlessly into our everyday programming, socials and App news feed. We also plan to introduce POAPs for in-person events and CSRs. The curriculum will contain the following:

Like LatAm, Africa is a fascinating continent full of opportunities.  I have been in contact with 1TRIBE and the idea of ​​producing an educational and entertainment radio program in English (with subtitles in Creole, Portuguese and French) is an excellent opportunity to start reaching out to a wide group of communities in Africa.

As we all witness the rapid growth of WEB3 technologies, it's crucial that we make sure the adoption of these technologies is inclusive and reaches every corner of the world. 

That's why we're excited to introduce **1TRIBE**, a digital multimedia education initiative that empowers Africans to participate in the decentralized WEB3 economy, with a focus on the **Polkadot** ecosystem 


After engaging with the community for [feedback](https://polkadot.polkassembly.io/post/1534) through platforms like **AAG** and **The Kusamarian**, we're thrilled to have received a lot of community support. 

However, some council members abstained from voting and following feedback from members of council and community, we have refined our proposal to better articulate our project.

As a **pro-African** WEB3 multimedia platform, we know that using all available mediums to disseminate our message of WEB3 education and empowerment to African youth is crucial. That's why we've made it our mission to incorporate an **online radio** format into our platform. Our hybrid platform allows us to convert our series of themed video content into online-radio format, ensuring that our message reaches a wider audience and that none of our content goes to waste.

Our goals for 1TRIBE are simple:

- **Foster** a diverse community of Africans, Africans in the diaspora, and people of African descent from around the world who are interested in Web3 and the Polkadot ecosystem.

- **Drive** interest in Web3 and Polkadot by seamlessly incorporating African lifestyle, music, art, and innovation.

- **Educate** Africa's budding entertainers, artists, musicians, and students about the potential of Web3 and Polkadot.

- **Provide** a platform for discussions and education about Web3 and Polkadot.

- **Encourage** the development and growth of the Web3 ecosystem in Africa.

By achieving these goals, we firmly believe that 1TRIBE will play a vital role in bridging Africa to the future with Polkadot.
