The Anti-Scam Response Team has come up with an initiative to incentivize community members to find and report to Telegram scam groups and channels that plague the Polkadot ecosystem.

This initiative aims to make use of the sub-bounties pallet once it’s part of the runtime to issue rewards, but in the meantime it is being tested out with a small number of participants and the rewards are issued with tips. This tip proposal is for such a reward.

The process for participating is described in [this Google form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeRgEf5AMxJkmen74A7bZzDc2X5myACfbn8cVfmILvSO7euVg/viewform?usp=sf_link), which is how the participating members submit their reports.

Telegram user @Dannytcan (former @Danny4Dayz) has been doing excellent work since this initiative started and has already received a tip last month for his efforts. This tip is for the groups he found and/or reported to Telegram since the last tip and have been marked as scam or removed.

All these groups posed a direct or indirect threat to users and their funds and were damaging the reputation of the ecosystem.

So, we propose to the Council that a total tip of **2 DOT** is awarded.

The curators of this initiative:

- @JackEsky: Active member of the community and admin of the official Polkadot Telegram channel. He’s been actively fighting Telegram scams for several months.

- @michalisFr: Web3 Foundation employee and member of the Anti-Scam Report Team who leads this initiative
