Authena x Polkadot: The Future of Scalable Traceability
Dear Polkadot Community,
We are excited to announce that we are now presenting our proposal, leveraging IoT, blockchain, and AI, to address real-life supply chain traceability issues. As pioneers in traceability, Authena plans to use Polkadot to enhance our platform, ensuring compliance with EU and US regulations and boosting consumer trust.
Authena has won the GSMA GLOMO Award for Best Mobile Innovation for Web3 and the LVMH Innovation Award for Operations Excellence. With proven use cases in luxury, pharmaceutical, and food sectors, this migration meets industry needs and regulatory pressures.
Currently, our Ethereum-based platform faces scalability limitations. Layer 2 solutions have also fallen short. By migrating to Polkadot, we aim to improve scalability, security, and compliance. Within this proposal, we will prove Polkadot's superior technology to meet the EU's Digital Product Passport (DPP) standards. The USA's FSMA 204 standards will be implemented by Authena outside of this project scope.
Our project includes integrating Polkadot with our proprietary IoT multi-sensor devices for real-time monitoring, enhancing dApp functionality, and implementing blockchain-based analytics and AI. We will showcase real use cases through global campaigns, advertised online and at Zurich airport for 52 weeks, driving adoption and educating stakeholders.
We have included the existing questions in our Q&A section and are now ready to seek Treasury funding. Let's work together to expand the Polkadot network and create a more connected, transparent, and authentic world.

GM! I appreciate your interest in building on Polkadot and the detailed proposal you have presented. I have found very interesting your approach and the solutions you raise for the ecosystem. I share some of the doubts raised above, which I consider genuine and relevant to a full evaluation of the proposal. In particular, I would like to elaborate on the benefits that this initiative would bring to Polkadot itself. While I understand the benefits your project offers to users and developers, I would like to better understand how it aligns with Polkadot's overall goals and vision. Could you expand a bit more on the specific benefits this initiative would bring to the Polkadot network? In what ways will it incentivize growth and adoption of the Polkadot ecosystem? If you could present us with some concrete numbers, that would be ideal.
You will also find some of us here in the Polkadot think that Polkadot is superior the the Ethereum ecosytem for those reasons. Such synergies.
Given that you see the benefits, perhaps you could migrate over without a $1.5m bribe?
There are no shortage of teams wanting to build on Polkadot, including our own parachains and infrastructure providers, who have already been contributing to our ecosystem. The problem many of them face is funding running out, as DOT lags behind Ethereum. I'm not seeing what is so special about your project that we would want to fund your large team rather than:
?
We do want to see more projects on Polkadot but yours seems to be pre-revenue and, frankly, ain't worth it.
That said, please do talk to our BD people and encourage your dev team to get involved in our dev community. I think that you will find plenty of support for your transition to Polkadot which you will find greatly reduces your costs of transition (a transition which you pretty much admit you will have to do, whether we pay you for it or not).
