It looks like you can definitely deliver a high quality media production but I wonder -- who is the ideal consumer of this video once delivered? Will it be showcased anywhere? Maybe I missed it but I don't see how long the video will be that you plan to produce will be. Will the B rolls/source media be publicly available for people to reuse?
@0xtaylor_ Thank you so much for your questions... The ideal consumer for this content is developers on the fence about building on Polkadot. There are many different choices to what L0, L1, L2, etc a developer could build on, the goal is to have them deploying projects in the Polkadot ecosystem (which is compatible with ETH, hence why Polkadot has a presence at ETHDenver). This is my third time going to ETHDenver... I have also attended blockchain conferences around the world: NFTNYC, ETHLisbon, ETHRio, ETHSF, NFTLA, etc... Many projects are out there trying to chip away at the ETH dominance, and that starts with developers.
As far as the length of the video, this all depends on what is recorded. For example: If we film 5 talks of 20 minutes each, that is 1h 40min of content for just the talks. If we film a 2 hour podcast, you would get that as well... These talks would ideally be outside of the standard ETH programming. They can be interviews, podcasts, etc... essentially, we use these assets to pull clips from for the event recap, but they also work great as standalone pieces that can be used across all different types of channels.
The rule of thumb for us is that it is much easier to edit and export a panel conversation or podcast interview than it is an event recap (event recaps require editing from ALL source clips, etc)
In regards to the event recap, these are killer for quick posting on Twitter/X (@polkadot) while the media is reporting on the conference. These types of assets are great to post where media can easily link to and repost on their feeds. Every year, ETHDenver makes mainstream media. With assets that we can just hand them, the likelyhood of them adding the post to their articles increases (I cannot guarantee placement, but it does increase the chances).
Recaps are great because we can give them the TLDR of what innovations we are bringing to the ecosystem in an easy to digest piece that everyone can understand. When you add clips of key speakers, etc saying key lines, the narrative is maintained and the message is clearly digested.
As far as b-roll / source media, yes, we can provide a library of assets for the public to do what they will with them. I'm not sure if Polkadot has a public drive link I can upload to, but that is more than reasonable and this being a community driven project sounds fine to me.
I'd be happy to address any other questions, keep em coming! If we get an approval, I'd be down to get on a video chat as well to get community feedback pre-shoot on what they think would be best to cover.
Cheers,
Adrian / Tiger Mode Media
Hey buddy, don't focus to deposit DOT to your ref to proceed officially.
