Beneficiary:This is our first request to fund our community flagship event POLKADOT DECODED. As you might know we just closed the voting for the 2024 location and you clearly decided to have the event in Brussels, Belgium and to attach it to the 7th Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC).
We are now securing the pre-selected venue (we are sure you'll love it) for July 11-12 and have our full proposal with an early budget estimation here.

I'm a firm defender of events as I believe that events help activate the community. I have had the pleasure of attending Decoded 2022 and Decoded 2023. I liked the events and I am aware that they have not been "good" years for the crypto sector. In polkadot the teams have demonstrated their vocation and have continued working over the years.
Even so, I would like to request a more exhaustive breakdown of the budget. Especially regarding marketing given that despite the large expenditure of previous years, we were practically the same users who attended the event. What will be the strategy this year with a budget of €200k. Will new users arrive? Will we be the same? Will you collaborate with any company? Universities?
Regarding the food budget, I would also like to add something: last year more than € 100k were
requested and only croissants were given.
