Following the successes of our Polkadot Hackathon Global Series (held in APAC, Europe, and North America) across 2021-2023, we are proposing to launch 2024's Polkadot Hackathon Global Series in North America. Our goal here is to continue providing Web3 builders a safe space to learn and explore the Polkadot ecosystem, whilst uniting existing builders across different verticals within the ecosystem to demonstrate the strength of our community.
The North America edition will be a hybrid hackathon, with a virtual hacking component and an in-person finale held at the Consensus conference in Austin, Texas.
Events Schedule:
Pre-Hackathon Period | 15 Feb - 13 Mar 2024 |
Hackathon Kickoff | 14 Mar - 3 May 2024 |
Hacking Period | 8 Apr - 29 Apr 2024 |
Judging Period | 30 Apr - 9 May 2024 |
PolkadotSocial: Austin | 30 May 2024 |
Our full proposal can be found here.

Considering that Tribe/Angelhack has completed already a long hackathon project in 2023, can we get a consolidated link of project winners that came out of these events? Is it possible to get a consolidated budget spent report as well? What can be found so far are results on the same proposals. So links to githubs/websites would be good to have.
We will reiterate the point about the "prize administration fee" . Is there a concrete reason to have 20% of the prizes (the 1/5th) being an administrative fee?. A fee which by the way has increased from 10% to 20% - Section 6.1

Shouldn't that be significantly lower as the service fee is already included in the 75k of the initial part and exchanges shouldn't take as much if you really want to give the prizes in USD? (assuming exchange to bank conversion. Direct DOT awarding shouldn't carry any prize overhead). The logic given in this document is due to "bank transfers" and it's not a good explanation in our opinion.
What's the reason to have the full document unavailable for downloads?
Ah the never ending grift continues. If it's not failing YouTube channels then it's nothing-burger hackathons.
why do we need this when we have PBA? Did anything concrete or real come out of your previous hackathons?
