About me:
My name is Brad Laurie and I've got the brand known as BlockchainBrad and Brad Laurie on X, you can find links to both of these further down.
For years I worked hard to produce largely free, consistent content in support of the Polkadot ecosystem.
For years I was one of the lead independent media personalities within Polkadot.
As a qualified & experienced educator and having started crypto research in 2017, I noticed a dearth of unbiased edu-media reps and so I dedicated my time to interview builders, founders, investors & other stakeholders across the crypto sphere.
I worked hard on X & YT, offering research & unpaid support.
Over time, Polkadot became my tech eco of preference & thanks to the welcoming community over the years, I established myself as a respected edu-journalist & personality within the Pokadot community.
I later took leave from my unofficial role & work for personal reasons, but I’m now ready to return and work hard alongside my Polkadot media colleagues.
My X brand: 55,300 followers - @Brad_Laurie
My Youtube brand: 26,100 subscribers - BlockchainBrad
Short description:
To deliver a total of 180 videos on my Youtube channel in both long form and short form over 6 months.
Interviews with Polkadot key stakeholders/contributors (long form) - 90 total videos (15 per month)
Polkadot Edu-content as shorter content - 60 total videos (10 per month)
Interviews with Key contributors within other ecosystems - 30 total videos (5 per month)
Total requested cost including paying a professional Editor & Graphic Designer: $57,000 (14,165 DOT with DOT price at $4.024 on EMA7)
I have written a very long and detailed proposal breaking down everything and sorry if it's too long but I felt this was necessary as it's my first time launching a proposal in Polkadot's Open Governance system and that you should get to know me properly.

Thanks,
Brad Laurie.

Brad Laurie was one of the very first educators whose work on Polkadot I saw when I came to the ecosystem over 3 years ago. His content has always been high quality journalism, and the more voices and perspectives we have educating others on our ecosystem, the better.
@The Phunky One
Thanks Ryan,
I really appreciate the supportive and kind words.
From the outset of my work and involvement in Blockchain education & content creation, my intention has always been distinct from the influencer route. As a qualified educator, I always felt that there was a great need for content that offered deep insights directly from the source, and so I sought to establish a platform that provided this. This led to my work as an early researcher & an edu-journalist in the blockchain arena, often doing countless hrs of work and numerous interviews free so that objectivity could be upheld as a standard, as well as providing early access of information from the source as early as possible. Obviously influencers typically work on a different model where agents and lucrative sponsorships are commonplace; that was just not the model for me, nor the brand I wanted to build as I continued to gravitate towards Polkadot. As an educator, researcher, journalist & proponent of blockchain innovation, I will remain multi-eco in theory; however my focus moving forward will be to contribute to the Polkadot edu-media cohort and to facilitate in that arena. This means importantly collaborating with existing high quality teams, but also leveraging my own extensive network to quickly get to work (& work hard!) and engage with founders, developers, backers, builders, participants, users and many other key stakeholders of Polkadot, so that the knowledge and value of broader ecosystem is shared further. In the past, when there were few content creators covering Polkadot, I often did so at my own expense, paying editors and giving up my own teaching position to dedicate my time to research and support. OpenGov offers an unprecedented opportunity that aligns with my ideals of truth, trust and transparency; and it offers a sustainable model for serious workers who genuinely want both transparency and accountability. Unlike other edu-media platforms, my work & interest in Polkadot did not start with my involvement in any particular sub-group or DAO. I am a true independent who, with my team, will strive to uphold the values of quality, objective edu-journalism.
Thanks so much for you positive feedback Ryan,
sincerely,
Brad Laurie (BlockchainBrad).
Hello from Polkadotters! We fully support Brad with his proposal, voting AYE on this one. Brad was one of those content creators who brought true alpha to the table. Actually, it was a bit of a pity that Brad stepped out and didn't produce more videos and interviews because it was always packed with high-quality educational content from his side. Happy to have you back, Brad!
@Polkadotters
From one Edu-content creator to another (in your case a team), thank you for your support. It's teams like yours, The Kusamarian and many others, who prove that, when it comes to supporting fellow quality content creators who support the technical development of the ecosystem, it's all about inter-support & collaboration. Yes, certain groups & subgroups have their own interests, preferences etc, but at the end of the day, quality inspires quality... And I thank any respected content creator who upholds the ethos of co-support, especially those who are willing to promote (or collaborate with) similar edu-platforms that put the integrity of Polkadot first.
Thank you Polkadotters,
Sincerely
Brad Laurie
