Tip for participation in the “Web3: Blockchain for Development” Seminar
Hello community,
I would like to share a summary of my participation as a Polkadot Ambassador in the institutional seminar “Web3: Blockchain for Development,” organized by the United Nations Development Programme (PUND Venezuela) on September 18th & 19th, in Caracas.
This event brought together key representatives from the banking and financial sectors, private and state-owned companies, insurance institutions, and the stock exchange, as well as members of ACHNUR, academia, and the technology sector.
Over two days, more than 50 participants explored how blockchain and Web3 technologies can contribute to sustainable development in Venezuela.
You can see the official thread published by @PNUDVenezuela here:

On the second day of the event, I had the opportunity to participate in the “Blockchain Impact” session, delivering a talk focused on new models of alternative financing, using the Polkadot ecosystem as reference.
During my presentation, I explained the different decentralized funding mechanisms available within Polkadot, highlighting OpenGov as a tool that enables communities, developers, and projects to access funds in a transparent and participatory way.
I also conducted a live demonstration showing how the governance system works and presented a real case of an ongoing proposal within the network:

The presentation sparked great interest among attendees, and I later addressed several questions from the audience about how these mechanisms could be applied to institutional, social, and business projects in the country.
This activity strengthened the connection established in June 2025, when the first meetings with PNUD representatives took place. Thanks to that initial approach, we have now been invited to key events focused on blockchain adoption, and we continue to explore collaboration opportunities to guide institutions seeking to integrate Web3 tools into their development strategies.
For many of these organizations, this was their first introduction to Polkadot and to the real possibilities of blockchain technology beyond cryptocurrencies, marking an important step toward education and ecosystem growth.
Therefore, I would like to request a tip of 250 DOTs as recognition for the time invested, the logistics covered, the representation of Polkadot in this institutional space, and the impact generated in promoting and educating about the ecosystem.
With appreciation,
Angélica Graterol
