#1319 Treasury Proposal for Funding the JAMTON Project - Milestone 1
24/12/24 Update: We deeply appreciate seeing a gradual shift in the level of support for our proposal. Bit by bit, we’ve been convincing people of the necessity of our work. (@Lucky Friday, thanks for your constructive approach and open demonstration of reconsidering your stances.). As of now, over a quarter of the votes are in favor (which is a big improvement compared to the pessimistic outlook in the first week). We feel the need to convince at least another quarter of the Assembly, proving the value that we're ready to bring, bridging the networks we love.
And we haven’t been sitting idle since the start of the referendum, proving every stone to make our system more tangible and real. This update highlights what we want the community to be aware of:
- On the very same day we submitted this proposal, we launched the JAMTON parachain. You can check it here: https://polkadot.js.org/apps/?rpc=wss%3A%2F%2Frpc.jamton.network#/explorer. A major testnet update, featuring key functions such as the AMM DEX, XCM bridge module, and liquid staking protocol, is planned for January, with an audit and runtime mainnet upgrade to follow shortly after.
- We recently won the Hackers League Hackathon, (https://blog.ton.org/hackers-league-hackathon-winter-2024-winners) securing 3rd place in the Interoperability category, that validated our work and strengthened our connection with the TON Society and TON community.
- Over the past month, we’ve tirelessly worked on several critical modules:
- Liquid Staking Protocol (DOT to DOTON module): This is well underway, and we’re making significant progress.
- Chain Abstraction Mechanism (TON-Polkadot): Development is advancing steadily, enabling TON wallets to work seamlessly with the JAMTON network and the Polkadot ecosystem. This functionality is now on the cusp of materialization.
- JAMTON dApp Development: We’ve made significant progress here, incorporating staking/restaking functions and DEX with farming pools. These features, along with their UI, were recently showcased and described in detail during the AAG stream (https://www.youtube.com/live/ECOhQruPXHY?t=3275s).
- Within the Assembly, we’ve been actively addressing questions and concerns raised by the community. Among others, we provided:
-
- detailed explanations of the token structure, including clarifications to @ChaosDAO, @RustSyndicate, and @SuperDupont. To support this, we designed a comprehensive diagram (https://gateway.pinata.cloud/ipfs/bafybeigndsa7hxldwrwumrzomfawga67tf6mnnbra6qlxuvtgastxjgnse) to clarify how the tokens operate within the system.
- some necessary clarification about DOTON to address common misunderstandings. (spoiler: It is not a native token minted by us. Instead, it is an aggregated liquid staking token (LST), minted when TON or DOT are staked in their respective native networks, or distributed as a staking reward.)
- additional clarifications on governance mechanisms, bridge solutions, and interoperability strategy, etc.
- some transparency about short-term and long-term milestones, offering more clarity to the community on our roadmap.
Thank you for being part of this journey. We’re committed to improving our vision based on the feedback we receive and continuing to push forward. With your support, we can build this complex but effective interconnecting mechanism and bring new energy into the ecosystem. It would mean a great deal to us if you could take another look and consider supporting the proposal!
JAMTON is a cross-chain layer (parallelized layer 2) designed to connect the TON (The Open Network) ecosystem, with its 950 million Telegram users, to the Polkadot ecosystem. As a Polkadot parachain, JAMTON will facilitate seamless cross-chain communication, liquidity flow, and user interaction between the two ecosystems, enabling Polkadot-based projects to tap into the vast Telegram user base and liquidity.
JAMTON will act as a gateway, allowing TON projects and Telegram users to seamlessly engage with Polkadot's powerful infrastructure and decentralized applications.

How JAMTON Benefits the Polkadot Ecosystem:
- User Growth & Engagement. JAMTON offers a direct bridge to Telegram users, providing easy entry into Polkadot through tools like Telegram Wallet and Mini Apps, boosting user engagement and ecosystem participation.
- Increased Liquidity. By connecting Polkadot and TON ecosystems, JAMTON enables an inflow of liquidity from TON token holders into Polkadot-based projects, driving growth in Polkadot’s DeFi ecosystem and staking protocols.
Key Deliverables of the JAMTON Development
In this proposal, we plan to build the following core components of the JAMTON project:
- JAMTON is an EVM-compatible Polkadot parachain with built-in AMM DEX, order book DEX and OpenGov.
- JAMTON’s multi-chain liquid staking and restaking protocols connecting the TON and Polkadot ecosystems.
- Simplified entry for TON users and liquidity into the Polkadot ecosystem.
- Telegram Mini App for smooth interaction with JAMTON protocol and dApps.
The development roadmap is designed for 1 milestone (3 months). See detailed roadmap and deliverables in the full proposal document.
Deliverables already completed:
- The initial version of JAMTON is launched as JAMTON Testnet (in late October 2024)
- Early adopters sign-up is launched (in late October 2024):
- Homepage: https://jamton.network
- dApp: https://app.jamton.network
- Telegram Mini App: https://t.me/JamtonAppBot
- The initial beta version of the JAMTON mainnet parachain is launched (in late November 2024):
Funding Request
We are seeking a treasury allocation of 78,800 USDT to fund the development of Milestone 1 of the JAMTON project, a game-changing cross-chain solution that connects the Polkadot and TON ecosystems.
This amount will cover:
- Development and deployment of JAMTON’s protocol (Milestone 1).
- Infrastructure costs in the initial development phase of JAMTON.
We kindly request your support for this strategic initiative, which will position Polkadot as a more interconnected, liquid, and accessible ecosystem through the power of JAMTON.
