Heya... You have a good proposal in general - I appreciate that you have commintted to success evaluation and reporting, and your company seems a good partner for Polkadot outreach. My worry is that, I am guessing everybody in your team is quite new to the Polkadot ecosystem? Polkadot suffers from the fact that new users find it complex, which is why we need educational content. There is a lot of content already available on how to do new-user level activities on in Polkadot. So the first point is that your materials may just be duplicating those. The second point is that I'm not sure how your team will be themselves learning how to do the activities they will be making content on - are you just taking the publicly available content and regurgitating it? I hope I'm not sounding to critical, because there is another side to what I'm saying. Great tech teaching comes, IMHO, from the ability to understand the complexities of a system and use these to see how to make it simple for others. This is something that certainly is still needed in the Polkadot ecosystem. But it's not something that everybody is able to do. But maybe you can? I don't know. My support for your proposal would come down to this issue - bascially, will you create inspired content? Or just yet more materials? My guess is the latter but that is just because your team seems to be new to the ecosystem. I would love to see some examples of 1) your materials making a complex subject easy for students and 2) your team presenting something that requires good familiarity with polkadot (for example delegation, proxies or XCM). Your proposal is basically well structured and proportionate, but we don't know if you can do what we need. I think that if you are able to provide those examples and they are quality, your proposal will pass. BTW, retrospective funding is also an option, as in you produce the materials and then request funding for the work already done, and for the future work of deploying them.
Thank you @Mork for you time, we appreciate the feedback and understand the concerns. We are committed to delivering high-quality, inspired educational content for the Polkadot ecosystem. Our team's experience, combined with our collaborative approach and open-source philosophy, positions us well to achieve this goal.
Some team members are new to the polkassembly, which is why we are proposing in the small spender category. While we have many ideas, we are starting with this project to expand Polkadot education to over 100,000 (50,000+ active) student. Some team members have been actively engaged in our local Polkadot community. We have organized and participated in various events, contributing to the ecosystem. Attached picture and this link are from these events.
Our team has significant experience in blockchain education. We have successfully executed projects that required us to distill complex blockchain concepts into easily understandable materials (we added some other blockchain related courses into the app).
We are aware of existing educational content. Our materials will be unique for students of high school/university, focusing on making complex concepts simple and engaging. We will ensure our content is complementary and offers fresh perspectives.
Our approach involves integrating Polkadot educational content with our existing curriculum books, ensuring daily exposure to students. This integration provides a continuous learning experience, reinforcing knowledge retention.
Our team will collaborate with experienced members of the Polkadot community to ensure accurate and up-to-date content creation. This collaboration will involve leveraging existing resources and adding value through our unique presentation style.
Being open source, our project welcomes contributions from the community. This openness ensures continuous improvement and adaptation of our content. Our backend allows for easy updates and enhancements. As the Polkadot ecosystem evolves, so will our content, ensuring it remains relevant and impactful.
We aim to create content that is not only informative but also engaging. Our educational materials will include interactive elements such as quizzes, discussions, and multimedia content to enhance the learning experience.
We hope this detailed reply addresses your concerns and look forward to your support for our proposal.
I am very grateful to see new teams working on Polkadot and in the field of education, so thank you very much for presenting this idea. However, the lack of a detailed pre-image is a major omission. Its absence in this case creates uncertainty about the team's ability to execute the project effectively. Therefore, I will be forced to vote against it.
Thank you @EzioRed for the reasonable feedback, we'll repost it with preimage.
