Hello,

Let me introduce myself, David Schmitz, Head Ambassador of Polkadot for France since june 2021, admin of Polkadot Francophonie and blockchain entrepreneur for 4Y now.

I would like to ask you to consider the support of Polkadot  and later perhaps the treasury for the following project : an annual event in Paris to gather the whole DotSama community.

This could be the highlight of an annual program that we implement with our community and that we plan to reproduce every year. A great celebration organized by and for the community in Paris !

How are things being organized within Polkadot Francophonie? We are all volunteers. But all directly implicated in different blockchain projects. So, I would like to thank the team of the community, the members and the team of logion network also for their help and their involvement.

For the organizational aspects and the coverage of the few expenses we have (mobile studio, zoom...), I used my own company.

Here’s what we’ve done so far.

- the setting up of our community that works to gather and promote all the french-speaking ambassadors, entrepreneurs... of Polkadot projects > https://discord.com/invite/JyqfV92zkg

- A complete program of monthly on site meetups for a year. Through these meetups, we discuss various topics around blockchain with always our Polkadot's cap (both literally and figuratively) but also opening to others environment if it makes sense. - To organise these meetups, we can count on our partner (https://www.bpifrance.fr/ - public and institutionnal investment bank). It provide premises, expertise but it also helps to create concrete links between our community, our members and its network (companies, institutions...). We are already planning a bigger event at the end of this year which would be common about the content. Other partners could join us in the near future.

- Every month we also organize a digital meetup with the ambassador of a project. We have our own zoom relayed by twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/polka_franco . The next one, October 6th will be the Moonbeam Ambassador.

- We have set up, with the Francophone Ambassadors, a common strategy for the information broadcasting on tweeter. https://twitter.com/Polkadot_FR

- We have just created a group interested in Substrate development and smart-contracts that takes part in the encode hackathon. Here is our github : https://github.com/polkadot-francophonie . We are just at the beginning of the adventure.

Our other projects : 

Increase the volume of exchanges and knowledge common DB in order to be able to contribute to technical and non-technical trainings. We already have requests for this.

As our community is built around the principle of bringing together ambassadors from all projects, we think we are well organized to gather the Polkadot project teams in one place, in Paris, once a year to communicate about everything that is going on.

We are thinking  of the ETHCC model.

We also know that we can rely on the expertise of our partner BPI which organizes major events.

We also have very good connections with media and journalists to broadcast our news.

We are not asking for any funding at the moment. When the time comes, we will look for sponsors, too.

However, we are already looking for acknowledgement and commitment for assistance on content, speakers, promotion... If you think the idea makes sense.
