Merkle Science - Proposal: Polkadot Transaction Monitoring
This Proposal aims to provide a solution for cases of scam victims and other illicit activities in the Polkadot community. As a blockchain analytics provider, we understand the urgency for such a solution so, from our side, we are placing the Polkadot protocol on the top of our roadmap of blockchains to onboard in our monitoring and investigations solution. With the funds provided, we’ll not only be able to prioritize the launch in production (December 2021) but the ecosystem will have priority access to start monitoring all addresses under https://polkadot.js.org/phishing/.
Merkle Science has been working closely with Michalis (Web 3 Foundation) and RTTI-5220 (Polkadot Council) for over 2 months in shaping this proposal in the best way possible to meet the current and future needs for continuous monitoring and blockchain investigations by the Anti-Scam Response Team.

This is a very interesting proposal. It offers the sort of tools that I have been on the lookout for, ever since we had this referendum a year ago. Well done! :)
A question though: how would these monitoring tools work in the context of private transactions on the Calamari network, for example?
Hi @anaelleltd
We are building our tools to be as Substrate-generic as possible so they can be easily expanded to other Substrate chains in the future.
However, onboarding a chain also requires mapping and identifying entities and building a database, additionally to customisation unique to each chain. So, each chain would need its own solution.
This proposal is only about Polkadot, but we're eager to explore the onboarding of other chains and we to figure out the specifics of each integration when that time comes.
If your questions relates to Manta Network, we'll be able to provide more information once we have finalized Phase 1a, which will give us a better understanding of the protocol itself.
