Free voting with recognition.
I would like to discuss the idea of free or reimbursed voting within OpenGov. It would also be important for individual voters to receive recognition for the time they spend studying proposals and the support they provide to OpenGov.
As nominators, we are rewarded with staking income, even though staking takes less time than voting, which is a full-fledged task.
Current disadvantages for voters include:
*It takes a lot of time
*Voting incurs transaction fees
*If highly involved, we locking our $DOT
These aspects hinder OpenGov. If voting were free and rewarded with a small percentage of additional staking rewards—variable (0.?%) depending on the lock-up period—it could encourage more participation.
Having free voting with recognition would allow more people to discover OpenGov, and some might become interested in it.
*This would also help increase decentralization
*It would make everyone’s involvement more fair
It would not be acceptable for me to be told that delegation is the answer, because that simply means "no" without any argument, and that is not in the spirit of Polkadot.
