3AV, an Open-source Standard Format for Audio and Video
Hi Everyone,
I would like to initiate a discussion on a topic that is very important to me: media, content, and decentralized distribution. As a documentary filmmaker, I’ve been following this topic since 2015. The year after, I had the chance to participate in the Singularity DTV crowdfunding, a platform for decentralised ownership of content, and started to follow the project and others similar, as they come and go.
With these experiences, some perplexity came around. A decade after smart contracts, we still lack an appropriate solution for decentralised media distribution that defends content creators. I’m summarising a complex issue that, if it were easy to resolve, would have been addressed by now.
The crux of the matter is that to do this properly, we need a new format for content distribution, one that incorporates smart contracts to mediate access. Content should be accessible to any agent, regardless of the application he uses.
A new format resolves the access issue and addresses other key concerns:
— Allow content owners to move content from one to another [decentralised] storage options.
— Distribute revenue to wallets defined by copyright holders, AIs or DAOs, software owners, or creators of remixed content.
— Identification of AI-generated content.
— Allow disputes on the nature and propriety of the content.
— Enable AI to create, own, manage, and distribute content.
— Scale distribution for high demands when the storage fails.
— Offer an alternative business model to cutting-edge tools for audio and video productions.
I want to share the document where the Invisible Hand Lab team has the specifications for the OpenMedia Tools Tools and the 3AV format. These tools will be used as a part of the Kineranet work stack, which can be found here.

Artificial Intelligence: Intersecting the Media that Shape the Future
Artificial intelligence is an unstoppable force reshaping the ecosystems we interact with. In this text, we explore the dynamic relationship between artificial intelligence, collaborative work, and the driving motivations behind Kinera - a decentralised network for media ranking, co-creation, and distribution.
As we move into the second quarter of the 21st century, we witness the erosion of the integrity of legacy institutions as they cease to provide the kinds of trusted knowledge expected of them. Amid the turmoil of a collapsing system, some want to halt technological development, while others strive to keep it unregulated and frightening.
This situation leads to a need for new spaces to produce and distribute ideas, which will occur outside the centralised institutions that currently control the flow of information. This will lead to a shift toward decentralised organisations that we fully trust and that help us slow down.
Creativity and collaborative work Kinera's platform for collaborative work is designed around AI that fosters positive interactions. We prioritise respecting users' data, ensure their contributions to various organisations are rewarded transparently, and enable them to have economic interactions without cuts or fees.
We want to use technology to work and play, to take risks, and to grow together. Our DAOs can adopt diverse organisational forms and governance models. Members of creative communities can generate content using analogue, hybrid analogue-digital sources, or place AI at the centre of the creative processes. Kinera is driven to empower users with tools to unlock paradigm-shifting dimensions, blending intellectual capital with creativity.
AI and narrative forms Cinema has always been one of the most resource-intensive art forms, requiring substantial investments to bring compelling stories to life.
Today, leading AI content creation companies offer replicas and characters within their services, marking the beginning of something that, while operating in the realm of representation, seems similar to what we already have.
Kinera's human-based characters are prepared to function in simulated fictional realms, where they interact using digital emotions and personalities. Even if, at the network's launch, we cannot make them live full-time in simulated worlds, we can place them in simulated fictional futures where they live their real lives on set during content production. When 'teleported' back to the present, they give interviews akin to those Forrest Gump would give, yet fully aware of their fictional origin, similar to a medium returning from a past life with clarity.
The most compelling cinema of the future will likely emerge from the interplay between the present moment and simulated futures - real yet not real, imagined yet not entirely fictional. In these spaces, we can send our simulated selves to gain the skills and insights needed to make better decisions in real life.
To empower content creators, Kinera has developed a treasury proposal offering innovative solutions for decentralised media distribution. This includes a groundbreaking new video format that transforms content into intelligent agents, enabling users and distributors to interact with media in unprecedented ways. Thank you for your time.
