For me personally there are plusses and minusses to the idea itself, so I'll leave kicking off the discussion to someone else.

I would like to flag, though, that in previous discussions about sub0/ decoded strategies, decentred has often either consulted, or been involved in the discussions, only to make its own internal decision different from the weight of feeling from those community discussions.

Would you be able to confirm that you will, after this discussion, undertake a formal process and hold yourselves bound by the decision? ('formal process' doesn't necessarily mean referendum, as the options may not be binary - they could be, eg, Yes/ No/ Give it a try for this year - but we would need some way of quantifying that the decision was ultimately decided by the community, not by decentred 'in consultation with' the community).

It is a wider issue how partners akin to contractors (Decentred, Lunar Strategy, etc.) can be bound to implement the community's wishes and I hope we will all be having that discussion soon. But this discussion is not the place for it so.. back to the sub0 LatAm question…

Hi guys! I appreciate the opportunity to participate in the discussion about the proposal to hold a Polkadot event of this magnitude in Latin America. It seems to me a very interesting initiative that seeks to strengthen the participation of the community in decision making on important events for the ecosystem. I express my full support for the proposal to hold a Polkadot event in Latin America. I believe that an event of this magnitude in the region would have a positive impact on the growth and adoption of Polkadot, in addition to demonstrating a solid ecosystem with high attendance. Regarding the choice of host countries, I would like to highlight the importance of considering: Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, as they have strong and active Polkadot communities, ensuring high interest and participation in the event. In addition, these countries have a significant Web3 presence, which facilitates the connection with potential partners, investors and users. Finally, holding the event in these countries could be more cost-effective compared to other options. I make myself available to collaborate in any aspect needed for the organization of the event. My experience and knowledge of the Polkadot ecosystem can be very useful for the success of the project.
