I believe that the DV program is a great opportunity for smaller token holders like me to have a voice and vote for the best interests of Polkadot. For example, I strongly oppose the #775 Events Bounty Top Up Proposal and would expect other DV delegates to do the same or provide a good reason for their decision. In my opinion, understanding a person's decision-making process and work experience is more valuable than knowing their political philosophy. This is because it gives insight into the type of decisions they have experience making and whether they are made from experience or learning for the first time. In my previous life, I worked in finance and investment banking before moving on to a strategic planning role at a satellite tech startup. From there, I founded my own tech startup and survived the Internet Bubble crash by bootstrapping my business to profitability. As a DV delegate, my top priority will always be to protect Polkadot and its token holders and maximize the value of Polkadot. I believe that I would be a strong representative for small token holders who may not have actively voted but have actively followed voting and discussions.
