So who is Chico Crypto?
Chico Cryptyo is a YouTube focused media outlet who has organically grown our audience throughout the years. None of the channel's subsribers have been paid for. Every subscriber on the YouTube channel is 100% organic!!! This means our followers are authentic crypto enthusiasts who are actively invovled in the markets.
We are an intermediate to advanced crypto channel that covers topics like DeFi & yield farming. This means a large majority of our followers have intermediate to advanced crypto skills. Having this type of audience is critical for promotion of DOT because crypto beginners would have a hard time navigating & using Polkadot tech stack. The channel also focuses on the Ethereum ecosystem. This is very beneficial as we can convert Ethereum supporters into Polkadot supporters with our content. We have many examples of videos we have done in the past which have converted Ethereum users into DOT users.
The channel is an early supporter of Polkadot, Kusama & Polkadot parachains. We have created organic content for years including an interview with Gavin Wood!

The Chico Crypto proposal?
We propose (1) videos per week whose sole focus is educational DeFi content on Polkadot and it's DeFi parachains.
Budget:
The channel currently charges $20k for full video reviews to projects seeking promotion. Because we love Polkadot & are huge supporters we would cut this in half to $10k.
10k per week * 26 weeks is ($260,000).
We intend to create videos that average around 10 minutes due to the YouTube algorithm is heavily skewed towards promoting videos of 10+ mins.
This would be a budget of about $10,000 per week.
We are a lightweight team. Here is a breakdown of where costs will go:

Why is this a good move & a fiar payment?
Polkadot governance payed out $284k+ to the Kusamarian in March of this year & just recently payed out over $312k for media production.
Their YouTube channel averages less than 500 views per video. The Chico Crypto channel averages over 25,000!!

The only place they get views is on Twitter, although they use the money they recieved to do promoted tweets. These are paid for views & not organic.

We invite you serr to a thursday AAG where you are free to elaborate on his DOT spending plan. We support all media makers looking to boost the Polkadot story! The treasury is a great way for holders to support media makers in line with their vision. A DeFi series sounds like a good idea 👀
We will clear up, however, claims repeated in this post that may give a misleading impression of Kus operations.
Many reading this will know that Kus cross-posts content to YouTube but focuses distribution efforts on X. Kus crossposts also to Medium, Polkassembly, WeMe & Reddit.
Deception is against a Kus guiding principal so, to be clear: metrics such as "views" mean different things on different platforms.
For the record though? a similar budget of $10k/week for Kus videos posted over the last 28 days appears to have yeilded 978,294 video views on X or 244,573/week.
These video views are different than post "view count" shown publicly on individual X posts — those "impressions" sum to 4,630,283 over the same period. 😵💫
During this period The Kus spent $179.37 USD total ($44.84/week) on X promotions.
We encourage media makers to explore the reach possible on X!
Again the comparison is probably a false equivilance and the merits of this discussion could likely stand without it.
