Community and Investor Hub - Pilot Program
Hello DOT Community! We're looking for feedback on our proposal that aims to bridge the information gap that exists between DOT and the rest of the crypto and non-crypto space! We are aiming to create a community and investor hub to provide summaries on all sources of media that are often lost in the cracks. Here's an example of our latest work!

Context
Knowledge Management in crypto is far from ideal. While we welcome the speculation caused through rumors and half-truth filled threads over twitter, the full truth is often lost in broader narratives. Albeit public, important and exciting developments are often overlooked; most people look at news from secondary sources like influencers or news outlets, instead of owned by the teams themselves. This proposal is meant to give the community of builders their voice and to enable any level of investors with tools to retrieve trustworthy information from primary sources.
Effectively, this proposal aims to bridge dialogue from team members at Parity, Web3, and other Polkadot affiliated organizations, to the hands to both retail and institutional investors in a digestible manner.
As a first step, we aim to build summaries for all the Polkadot related content that is provided to the market. This will allow anyone to speed quickly by reading through summaries of community calls, technical explainers, and podcasts. The vision is to create a hub where people who want to digest the latest information on Polkadot can go, and in the future include summaries created weekly based on interviews with people who are in business development or partnerships , ecosystem development, or technical buildout of Polkadot. This will be organized in a simple manner that will allow anyone who wants to keep up to date with Polkadot developments, to stay on track and to be able to “double click” into the most interesting and relevant developments to the ecosystem.
Goals
- Our program aims to capture every Polkadot-related video and audio piece, providing comprehensive summaries for each. This will enable everyone in the community to stay updated with the latest developments and insights, ensuring easy access to essential information and fostering a well-informed ecosystem.
- A primary goal of our program is to disseminate high-quality information. By prioritizing accuracy, clarity, and relevance, we ensure that our audience receives reliable content that not only educates but also fosters trust and confidence in the Polkadot Network and its potential.
- We strive to empower our audience with the ability to understand what is most important and relevant in the Polkadot community. By curating and organizing content based on significance and topicality, we enable users to quickly identify and access information that aligns with their interests and needs.
- Our program aims to actively engage with content creators whose work we are summarizing. By collaborating with them, we can distribute our summaries through their channels, effectively reaching a wider audience and amplifying the impact of their original content.
- To ensure real-time updates and broader accessibility, we will maintain a dedicated Twitter page where we share concise threads on our summaries. This approach will enable quick consumption of vital information, keeping followers informed and engaged with the latest Polkadot-related news and developments.
Example Work For First Iteration
Our team has demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering summarized content to the broader public, having already completed summaries for 15 long-form podcasts and presentations. You can explore our existing page here, where you'll find detailed summaries of each piece. We envision the creation of an extensive repository, containing summary-level data for all Polkadot-related content, streamlining access to valuable information for interested individuals.
By providing guidance to those interested in specific topics, we aim to make the process of discovering relevant content as seamless as possible. In addition to our summaries, we will include links to the original work, catering to those who prefer to consume content in its original form. This comprehensive approach ensures that our platform accommodates the diverse preferences and needs of the Polkadot community, ultimately promoting a more informed and engaged audience.

Hello there. On your official page, the word "Polkadot" is misspelled, and you indicated that the "Space Monkeys" programme is hosted by Gavin Wood. May I ask where you got this information from? Your proposal document does not mention any market research done by your team to justify the need for the summaries you are proposing. Similarly, there is no rationale provided to justify the current selection of the programmes you will be summarising, which seems rather arbitrary. You make use of the word "investor" in your official title (i.e "Community and Investor hub"), which could very well mislead onlookers about the nature of the content covered. You indicated that your goal is to provide information about certain topics, but your proposal does not mention any topic at all, and simply lists a series of Playlists and Twitter spaces. Your proposal document gives no specific mentions of tasks, team members, team credentials, nor is there a budget that references the project milestones.
Thanks Anaelle! We appreciate the thoughtful comments.
Addressing some of your key points:
"Community" vs. "Investor" Hub. You absolutely bring up a great point. Our intention is not to mislead onlookers, but rather bring attention to the full content suite to the community. Investors are one part of that, however the primary audience is anyone! We really want a place where anyone interested in Polkadot can come to and find a variety of content. They can read up on summaries, and dig deeper by finding links directly to media of their interest!
Information on Certain Topics. I want to be clear that our goal is to provide information on topics that the Community finds useful. In this case, we are focusing on any media content generated by the community itself. Meaning that in the case people are posting podcasts about XCM, Staking Pools, or Parachains, we'll cover it! We leave it up to the visitor to decide what they're interested in and what they want to double-click. We added in a section under the "Methodology" Section.
Team. We have added additional information about the team lead, and the two technical writers onboard.
Market Research. This is an important point, thank for you bringing this up. The primary market research is based on all our experiences across crypto pointing to long form content being difficult to digest for people who already are running low on bandwidth. It's clear that it's not the issue of the viewer not being interested, but rather they do not have the time. We added in an entire section devoted to this in the proposal document!
Tasks, Budget, and Milestones. We have updated our proposal to tie the Budget directly to specific Milestones which outline which tasks they are related to. We have additionally added transparency behind the budget to help the community understand the transparency behind the figures.
We remain committed to our goal to building this Community Hub Pilot Program on Polkadot. We admire the community efforts to invest in their own, and know that with the right support, we can help grow the community in creative ways!

Thank you very much!
I am still unable to find any tangible information about the team behind this initiative, such as actual names and/or credited body of work. Since this project is focused on relaying official information about Polkadot, it is important that the community has clear information about the background/involvement of team members, for the sake of transparency and accountability.
Hi Anaelle - Thank you for your message and your genuine interest in our initiative. We understand and appreciate the importance of transparency and accountability, especially in the context of a project focused on relaying official information about Polkadot. While we respect this stance, our team has chosen to prioritize anonymity, in alignment with the ethos of the crypto community. We believe this decision not only respects the fundamental principles of crypto but also allows us to focus on the work and its impact, rather than personal attributions. However, we are not disregarding the need for accountability. To address your concerns, we have already demonstrated a proof of concept for our project. This serves as a tangible representation of our capabilities and commitment. We hope it offers a level of reassurance about the seriousness and feasibility of our project. Furthermore, we understand the importance of ensuring that the work is getting completed as per the stipulations of the proposal. To this end, we are open to modifying the payment schedule. We propose initiating payments at the end of Milestone 1, instead of Milestone 0. This way, we ensure that payments commence only when work, as outlined in our proposal, is completed. We trust this arrangement showcases our dedication to the project and our willingness to ensure that tasks are executed as planned, before any payment is processed. We believe in our project and its ability to contribute to the Polkadot community, and we are willing to demonstrate this through our work. We hope this addresses your concerns, and we are more than happy to discuss further if needed. Thank you for your understanding and your continued support.
