Treasury proposal: WebSummit Participation
This proposal aims to get the costs associated with participation in WebSummit 2022 - https://websummit.com/
Web Summit is an annual technology conference held in Lisbon, Portugal. Web Summit brings together the “Web” people and companies redefining the global tech industry.
Problem Statement: Polkadot doesn’t have Marketing beyond. Participation in the such event could change it.
We currently have less than 10.000 active users in the Polkadot ecosystem monthly. To compare - Ethereum has more than 6.5 million users monthly. Web2 users - 6 billion!
Participation in such global conferences could bring much public attention to Polkadot. It approximates us to mass adoption. If Polkadot presents on WebSummit, it will show as the best decentralized solution itself.
Purpose:
- Get influence on global blockchain vision
- Attract more builders and leaders to the ecosystem
- Show that Polkadot is alive 😄
The full proposal is not ready yet, because we don’t have exact calculations from WebSummit team.
The approximate requested price will be 500k$. The initial price for the booth will be ~300k$

Hello, I understand the importance of these events and the importance and benefits that an eventual participation can bring to Polkadot and Kusama.

We would like for this to be a game changer for Polkadot and its key players. We see Polkadot as next step in blockchain, next step to user adoption. For web3 to become Web - it's extremely important to participate in such events. And Polkadot should take lead there.
