Bounty Proposal: Polkadot Treasury USDT Acquisition

The Polkadot Technical Fellowship is an integral part of the Polkadot ecosystem, ensuring the ongoing advancement and upkeep of the network. However, there's a present need for a more predictable and stable financial model to support uninterrupted Fellowship salary distribution. This proposal outlines a strategy to accumulate 1.57M USDT for the Fellowship's salary needs using a community-based bounty mechanism. While intended as a temporary solution, this initiative sets the stage for the launch of Asset Conversion on the Asset Hub.

Please make sure to review the full proposal that details the problems faced, the proposed solutions, and the practical steps to achieve our funding objectives.

I would like to ask the Fellowship whether it has considered any of the existing solutions within the ecosystem which seem to be way more cost-efficient for DOT holders.

For example, the Polkadot protocol could trustlessly place DCA orders to swap DOT for USDT using the HydraDX Omnipool with negligible slippage.

It's time for Polkadot to start eating its dog food.

Agree with discovering other ways to do it, 10% premium seems really wasteful for the treasury. Moreover, how do you secure one whale will not just scoop it all up?
